Optimization

SDM is capable of performing CAE based optimization, which ensures safety and desired performance with maximum efficiency at the design level. CAE based topography, topology, size, and shape optimization analyses are conducted in order to satisfy the performance and durability targets prevalent in high end engineering. DOE and multidisciplinary design optimization processes are also utilized to obtain satisfactory improvements in system response and safety. Some optimization applications are shown as follows:

  • Topology optimization for minimizing stress levels and mass, while maximizing NVH performance (maximizing modal frequency, minimizing surface vibration levels etc.).
    • Engine mounts
    • Brackets
    • Rotors etc.
  • Topography optimization for sheet metal components, to minimize stress levels and maximize NVH performance (maximizing modal frequency, minimizing surface vibration levels etc.) while keeping components mass and thickness the same.
  • Determine the optimum rib location to yield maximum durability and NVH performance on cast/forged components.
    • Engine block
    • Cylinder head
    • Structural sump
    • Gearbox
    • Casings
    • Test systems etc.
